“You cannot conquer what you don’t confront; you cannot confront what you don’t identify.” Poverty is to be depleted or to be in lack of the things you need. Though most people think of poverty as a lack of finances, it is not limited to that any more than prosperity is just a financial term. To prosper means to have wholeness—spirit, soul, mind and body. While it includes your finances, prosperity is not materialism, it is a wholeness word that means everything prospering, everything functioning properly in your life. Poverty is depletion—prosperity is wholeness.

What good is it to have money, and yet be bankrupt in your spirit? As Jesus said, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36).

    You should have peace...
    You should have joy…
    You should have restoration...
You should have love with your spouse, children and significant relationships...
You should have a right mind...
You should have freedom and liberation…
And you should have enough resources to do everything that God has assigned in your life and called you to do.

That is prosperity. That is wholeness!

As we read in the first chapter, God wants to prosper you. But if God mandates that you prosper, if God mandates that you increase, if God mandates abundance in your life, why do you have lack? (It is one thing to experience a season that is difficult—but “having lack” means you live in that continual state.) Why does anyone in the body of Christ have lack? The problem can’t be on the giving end. It must be on the receiving end…

Reasons for Lack

If there is a lack of joy, lack of finances, lack of restoration, lack of peace, lack of anything that God has for you, then you must first identify the cause of that lack before you can overcome it. As it is often said, only a fool will expect different results from doing the exact same thing over and over. We are not called to be foolish but wise! There are several reasons the Bible gives for having lack in our lives. I want to cover some of them for you in order to examine the areas of your life that are not “abundant,” giving you the tools to make the “adjustments” that are necessary…”

Often, it’s not that we are doing something wrong but not doing enough of what is right! This month is the most important of the year to establish what happens to the rest. TAKE OFF THE LIMITATIONS AND LET GOD BE GOD!! You have a special opportunity to activate the principle of First Fruits as mandated in the Word of God.

The Hebrew meaning of First Fruits is “the first in place, time, order, or rank.” It also means the beginning, the chief or principle thing, God always lays claim to it. “First Fruits” in Hebrew is “bikkurim” and literally means “promise to come.”.  First fruits send a signal in the spirit to the future harvest to be released to you! And there is ONE who never breaks His promise – God! When you KEEP FIRST THINGS FIRST through faith and obedience, you turn God's promise into provision… Because He wants to see you succeed, He has put a pattern into place based on the principle of “First Fruits.” The Bible references first fruits or first things or devoted things no less than 32 times…

God declares, “When you come into the land which I give you and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest” (Leviticus 23:10 NIV). -- This divine establishment of God’s order is actually the root, the foundation that governs the rest. “For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches” (Romans 11:16 NKJV).

The first represents the total. In other words, whatever you do with the first governs what happens to the rest. By presenting all firsts to God during this first month of the year you are establishing His redeeming covenant for it! All firsts belong to God! -- “Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow…” (Proverbs 3:9–10 NKJV).

If you haven’t yet sown your First Fruits seed, I want to give you an opportunity to do so now. I believe what you do with your “first” in the opening days, weeks, and month of 2016 will greatly determine your entire year!

Cheers for reading.
