Reports from Bayelsa state ahead of the Saturday, January 9 governorship supplementary election says there is heavy shootout in Nembe local government area of the state.

According to Leadership, three supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been critically injured in a heavy shootout and are currently being transported to Yenagoa, the state capital.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has however alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in conjunction with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), police and military have already written the result of the governorship election in Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa state.


Meanwhile, the Bayelsa state police command has said it will sanction personnel who escort their principals to polling units during the election in Southern Ijaw council area and in 101 units across six local government areas of the state.
