THE Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, has ordered investigation into the battery of a pregnant woman by one of its operatives in Lagos.

The lady, Blessing Nwokpa, alleged last week that she had been abandoned after being impregnated by an EFCC officer (names withheld), following her refusal to abort the seven-month pregnancy.

This is just as authorities of the commission mandated the EFCC operative to pay N10,000 monthly to his pregnant girlfriend as part of upkeep.

Recall that it was reported that the expectant mother was homeless after she was allegedly beaten and thrown out by her lover from his Fadeyi abode.

Vanguard was reliably informed that EFCC would be meeting with the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria that is handling the matter, with a view to settling the issues between its operative and his estranged girlfriend.
