Three young men have been remanded in court for allegedly raping a mother and her child from midnight till dawn. According to The Punch, the three guys; Dayo Tajudeen (18), Ahmed Tajudeen (27) and Kamaru Tajudeen (21) were remanded in an Osun State Magistrate’s Court, Osogbo for allegedly raping the pair. 


Abibat Basiru, the chief magistrate in charge of the issue, ordered that young men be remanded at the Ilesa Prison after Mireti Wilson, the police prosecutor, told the court that the accused, who were armed, broke into the apartment of the woman, identified as Mrs Adebayo and raped her alongside her daughter till dawn. 


They were also said to have carted about N700,000 and two phones valued at N15,700 on March 5, at about 1.30am at the Owode area of Osogbo. “The offence is contrary to Section 6 (b) and Section 1( 2) (a) (b) and punishable under Section 1(1) of the Robbery and Fire Arms ( Special Provision) Act, Cap 11, Vol. 14, Law of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, and Section 516 PDF of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, vol. 11, Law of Osun, 2003,” the prosecutor stated. 

Mrs Basiru further asked the prosecutor to forward the case file to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) before adjourning the case till March 23.
