A bus had stopped at the Ikeja Along bus-stop, Lagos, to allow a passenger disembark, when the bus conductor was approached by a roadside tout popularly known as ‘agbero’ asking him to ‘settle’ him with a certain amount of money.

An argument ensued between the two of them and quickly escalated to a fight. People quickly gathered around them and tried to separate them, but they refused to let go of each other. PAY

They were left to battle it out and ended up in a gutter. When asked the reason why they were exchanging blows the agbero said the conductor refused to pay him, claiming he was carrying a ‘staff’ (uniformed officer) which automatically entitles him to no payment of the charge.
The duo were later separated by members of the Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
