Two days ago we posted a heartbreaking plea from a Nigerians lady named Mayowa Ahmed, begging Nigerians for money,,100,000 USDollars for treatment for her stage 4 ovarian cancer.
Nigerians happily donated for the life saving surgery that was, according to her going to take place at Emory International Hospital, Atlanta, USA. Under 3 days the target of 100k dollars (N32 million) was exceeded after numerous blogs and social media created awareness about her plight.
However. reports just reaching us has revealed that Mayowa and her family have allegedly scammed Nigerians.
According to LIB,
"Mayowa is really sick, she truly has Ovarian cancer, she was indeed admitted at LUTH but she didn't need money for surgery, because doctors had told Mayowa she was beyond treatment and no hospital in the world could treat her as she was extremely far gone. Mayowa had reached stage 4 and doctors, unfortunately, already told her family she won't survive it and had advised them to take her home. Her family instead used her situation to raise money from Nigerians. The doctors in LUTH have also denied giving her family a medical report advising her to seek treatment abroad".
It was further alleged that Toyin Aimakhu, who was one of those who spearheaded the fundraising stormed LUTH with police officers after discovering the alleged scam.

Concerned people reportedly went to Mayowa's house but it is allegedly under lock and key.
I hope we all have not been taking for a ride....
