England coach Sam Allardyce has sensationally opened the door for Chelsea captain John Terry to make a return to the national team. The Three Lions manager revealed that he will try to convince the former captain to make a comeback into the England squad. Allardyce said:“I don’t know what the political side of that might mean — if there is a political side.

“I’ll have to have that conversation, if I feel that John Terry may be a possibility. “He may be. I think it depends on what John said. “Maybe if I get the opportunity, I might have to give him a ring. But until I come to that selection or that process, we’ll wait and see.” Terry quit international football in 2012 after being involved in a court case for allegedly racially abusing Anton Ferdinand, brother of his England teammate Rio Ferdinand. Fabio Capello quit as England manager after the English FA stripped the Terry of the captaincy.

However, Roy Hodgson tried to persuade the former Northampton defender back into his team in preparation for Euro 2016 following the teams’ need for a quality center-half. Before his retirement, Terry has played 78 matches scoring six goals since joining the team in 2003.
