Prophet Phikolomzi Mafanya, a Popular charismatic South African clergy, has gotten into a faceoff with villagers in his host community.

This comes after the self-proclaimed prophet allegedly shunned the villagers by erecting a big tent on a field the villagers claim is their soccer field.

According to Daily Sun SA, last month prophet Phikolomzi Mafanya erected a shack and fenced it in the middle of the soccer field.

Angry villagers took the matter to court and they won – the prophet was ordered to remove the shack.

The Bridge to Heaven Ministries prophet appealed and the matter was heard in the Mthatha High Court on Monday. Judgment was postponed to Tuesday 27 September. In the meantime, the prophet has allegedly gone back to the same spot and has put up an even bigger tent!

The tent is said to be in preparation for this weekend’s revival, themed “Zimbane will be punished”!

However, the prophet’s loyal supporters are standing by him. Nokwazi Ntshinga said they will be on a dry fasting, praying in tongues until the court date. “Zimbane village will crumble like the walls of Jericho,” said Mokwazi.

Community leader Onke Nyathi said: “The big tent is an insult. We are not afraid of Mafanya’s threats because we own guns and also have our strong sangoma, who has given us strong muthi for protection.”

When contacted for comment Mafanya began speaking in strange tongues and later said: “Write what you like because I am a man of God. I do not have business with you journalists. Hell will break loose after my revival and the Zimbane community’s legal team will either die in car accidents or suffer strokes.”
