Next week, Sept 13 2016 is Sallah, and already ram sellers are complaining of low patronage. The reason behind this may be that the prices of various sizes of rams have gone up astronomically across Nigerian states such as Abuja, Lagos, Ibadan and other parts.

Checks by newsmen revealed that the prices were higher than what the rams sold for in 2015, with a small size ram now being sold for N30,000 – N40,000 as against N17,000 it was sold last year. A big ram now costs as much as N200,000. Unbelievable!

Bodija market Medium ram -N40,000 and N45,000
Big – N100, 000

Sabo
Big – N180, 000 – N250, 000.

Zuba ram depot, Abuja

Medium ram – N60,000 and N65,000,

Big – N100,000 and N180,000.

It was even discovered that apart from their high cost, rams were not even available in the most of the markets visited at Gwagwalada, Zuba, Mararaba, Nyayan, Lugbe, and Mpape.

Lagos State Ojota

Big ram – N135,000

Medium ram – N60,000 and N70,000.

Smallest ram – N55,000

Big ram – N200,000 and N180,000.
