Gbenga Ayodele Oladimeji and Rotimi Akeredolu respectively
As Rotimi Akeredolu officially opened his campaign office in Akure yesterday towards the November 28 gubernatorial election in Ondo, a member of the National Youth Service Corps shocked him with a rare act of benevolence.
The youth corper in Ondo state, Gbenga Ayodele Oladimeji donated his allowance for the month of September 2016 to the Akeredolu Campaign Organization, ACO as part of his contribution for Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN success in the November 26 gubernatorial election.
Oladimeji made the donation on Monday at the ACO’s secretariat in Akure. According to him, his decision was borne out of his patriotic resolve that Ondo state is in dire need of personality like Akeredolu.
“This is borne out of my patriotic resolve that Ondo state is in dire need of personality like Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu.
A man with matchless professional integrity, convincing administrative dexterity and exceptional leadership acumen to salvage the people of Ondo state from the current socio economic quagmire and political directionless exhibited by the present administration in Ondo state.
“It is no longer a news that the government of the day in Ondo state is financially incapacitated to address most of the needs of the masses particularly the civil servants and the youths, it therefore become very sacrosanct for all right thinking individual to join Akeredolu in providing the needed requirement to salvage the state.
“I use this medium to call on well meaning citizens of Ondo state and Nigeria in general to donate generoulsly to this campaign in order to actualize Ondo state of our dream,” he said.
Meanwhile, Akeredolu a.k.a Aketi has continued to gain massive popularity in Ondo and Nigeria amidst the APC crisis that has rocked the leadership of the party to its roots.
Aketi's major opponent, Eyitayo Jegede of the People's Democratic party - an alleged stooge of Governor Olusegun Mimiko has continued to struggle to match his popularity in the Sunshine State.
