"A people without knowledge are like trees without roots"- Marcus Garvey.
In this case, when we don't knowledge of our roots, or history of our roots, we are dangerously close to becoming swallowed up by alien ideals. In recognition of this, the Nigerian senate today passed a motion for the re-introduction of the study of History in Nigerian schools.

Senator Wakili stated that Nigerian scholars observed that Nigeria's value systems had deteriorated because of the absence of the study of history in our schools, up to University level. In other words, we are inculcating foreign beliefs and culture system, to the detriment of our own culture and value system.
Read the interesting motion....

History is no longer taught in Nigerian schools and this has been the case for many years. If we don't know our history, we are people without roots. So sad
