The The Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel (WC) has debunked the earlier reports that the founder and general oversear of the church, Bishop David Oyedepo is getting ready to quit his leadership position after several years of service. The church said Bishop Oyedepo never retired.
The refutal of the earlier rumour about the Bishop’s resignation was confirmed by one Pastor Yemi Nathaniel, who holds the position of the Mandate Secretary to Winners Chapel.
Pastor Nathaniel stated that:
“Every apostolic ministry like ours is a priestly commission and because priesthood is for a lifetime, his (Oyedepo) presidency and priesthood is for a lifetime.“Moses, Joshua, Aaron ministered and his son also did; Elijah, Elisha and Paul, among others. Therefore any online publication purporting his retirement is false.
“For those interested, the Red Book, The Mandate, explains our succession plan. The good news of generational success as promised by God for the righteous must be causing pains for the ignorant, the envious and the wicked. Refuse to be a part of propagating evil.”
It was initially learnt on Friday, January 8 that David Jnr, Oyedepo’s oldest son who heads the United Kingdom’s branch of the Ministry will be named the new resident pastor of the Church headquarters called Canaanland in Ota, Ogun state come Sunday, January 10.
The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the nation’s president, Femi Adesina on Friday, January 9 affirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari will surprise Nigerians in 2016 with good economic policies and sterling leadership qualities.
