Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, was brought to the Federal High Court, Abuja, Friday, 29 January for his bail application
Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has been denied bail by a Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja.

Justice John Tosho on Friday, ruled that Kanu was a threat to national security, and as such, his bail application would be denied.

The judge said there was a high possibility of Kanu committing the same offence and also jumping bail, owing to his dual citizenship.

Consequently, he ruled that Kanu should be remanded in prison custody while ordering an accelerated hearing of his case.
