Iara Oshiomhole, the wife of the Edo state governor Adams Oshiomhole, has reacted to the rumours that she asked her husband for divorce.
Mrs. Oshiomhole defined the news circulated in the social media as ‘most wicked and malicious’.
She stated that she is now enjoying her marriage and that there was no reason to divorce Mr. Oshiomhole.
Iara reacted in a press statement published by John Mayaki, the executive director, media and public affairs of the Edo state governor.
According to Oshiomhole’s wife, she was in her office throughout the week holding meetings and brainstorming on how to better the lots of the less-privileged women and children in the state through her pet project: “We Care Trust”.
She said: “The rumour mongers are well advised to find more productive engagements to deploy their energies rather than market inanities about public personalities all in their bid to sell their medium.
“Which court of law was the alleged divorce initiated and to whom was it served? Which country, state, municipal or county, if any, is the court situated? And when was the action/suit filed? Of course the writers didn’t bother to inform their readers. The truth however is that the answers only exist in the warped imagination of the purveyors of the lies.”
Adams Oshiomole married her new wife, Iara Fortes, a model from Cape Verde on May 15, 2015 at the Etsako West local government council marriage registry in Auchi area of Edo state.
The colourful ceremony was attended by a lot of dignitaries and other guests comprising Muhammadu Buhari, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Femi Otedola, Jim Ovia, Nasir el Rufai, Kanayo O Kanayo, Aliko Dangote, Cecil Hammond and others.
