An Army Officer serving with 1 Mechanized Division of the Nigerian Army in Kaduna has been abducted by Unknown persons, Daily Trust has gathered.


A source, who pleaded anonymity identified the officer as S. Yunusa saying the incident occurred around 7pm on Saturday.


The Divisions spokesperson, Colonel Abdul Usman confirmed the incident adding that "We are putting a statement together which will be issued to the media shortly."

Daily Trust also gathered that the officer was with his wife when the incident occurred, fortunately, the abductors dropped the officers wife and zoomed off with him.

Our correspondent reports ‎that Army checkpoints have been mounted at strategic positions around the state due to the abduction causing traffic gridlock.
