The Nation reports that an unidentified mother of two children has been crushed to death by a hit-and-run driver in Cele bus stop, along Apapa-Oshodi expressway in Lagos.
The unnamed woman was said to be waiting to board a bus to the office when the commercial bus suffered brake failure and ran into her at the spot she stood with others.
Eyewitness report has it that the late woman failed to notice that other commuters had fled the bus stop on the approach of the errant vehicle. “On sighting the bus, other commuters at the bus stop ran for their dear lives but it was too late before the woman could leave as the bus caught up with her and crushed her to death.
“The driver of the bus that killed the woman did not even wait to look at what has happened to her. He fled on sighting the woman in a pool of her blood,” he explained.
Another eyewitness confirmed that the woman’s life would have been saved if the people beside her rushed to her rescue and not just take pictures, while another source said she was a housewife with two kids in the neighbourhood.
It was gathered that her body was evacuated several hours later by Lagos state health officials. Recently also, four people were confirmed dead while four others were injured after they were crushed by an out-of-control cement truck in Usman, Sokoto state.

The information was provided by Usman Khaliel, the rescue officer of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), Sokoto state command. According to Mr Khaliel, the heavy truck swerved off the road and crashed into shops at the junction, killing the victims instantly.
