The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has begged God to intervene and end the current fuel scarcity witnessed across the nation.
Adeboye who led thousands of worshipers in prayer for a divine intervention to the lingering scarcity on Monday, April 4 also prayed for the episodes of fuel scarcity in the country to end, Tribune reports.
The prayer session which lasted for about seven minutes, was led by Adeboye after mounting the pulpit at about 6.20 pm during the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) version of the monthly divine encounter programme held at the national stadium, Abuja.
He said: “Pray that the fuel scarcity be over soon and pray that this will be the last time we will ever have such occurrence in the country,” the renown cleric admonished the worshipers. Adeboye, also commended the worshipers who in spite of the biting fuel, able to maneuver their way to the stadium in their large numbers.
Some dignitaries at the religious event included wife of the preacher, Pastor Folu Adeboye, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his wife, Dolapo, Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin, the Minister for Health, Professor Isaac Adewole and clerics from other Christian denominations, among others.
Meanwhile, the minister of state for petroleum resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu on Tuesday said that the scarcity of petrol which had lasted a while in the country would be over from Wednesday (tomorrow) through to Thursday in Abuja and Lagos, This Day reports.
Kachikwu who disclosed this during a town hall meeting he had with workers of the Petroleum Products Products Pricing and Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) in Abuja noted other cities in the country like Port Harcourt, Warri, Sokoto and Kano would however begin to experience such improvement by the weekend.
