Baby born with heart outside her chest dies ahead of her surgery

Little baby Aisha Mustapha, who was born few days ago with a severe medical condition affecting her heart, has died. A life saving surgery was to have been performed today but she died in the very early hours of this morning,

This was revealed by Abdullah Bego, Special Adviser to Yobe State Governor on Media.

With a deep sense of sadness, we received the news of the passing away of Baby Aisha Mustapha, born ten days ago with a severe medical condition affecting her heart.

She was due to be taken to the University of Enugu Teaching Hospital's Cardio-Thoracic Center today from the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) where she was hospitalised but she died in the early hours of today.

His Excellency Governor Ibrahim Gaidam has sent his sympathies and condolences to Baby Aisha's parents.

He prays Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss. He also implores Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant them other offspring from His Grace.

Only yesterday, the governor of Yobe Ibrahim Gaidam donated the N2.5 million bill urgently needed to undertake surgical operation.

The surgery was to have been done at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH). Unfortunately, the poor child didn't survive.
