Decomposing body of kidnapped Rev. Father John Adeyi found in Benue

It was a tragic moment indeed when the decaying corpse of kidnapped Rev. Father, John Adeyi was found today, Wednesday in Otukpa, Benue State.

The police and villagers besieged the back of Local Government secretariat where the body was dumped by his suspected abductors.

Two months ago, Father Adeyi, the vicar general of the Otukpo catholic Diocese was kidnapped by unknown gunmen but was never released despite the payment of N2 million as ransom.

He was never found even though the Benue State Government made an offer of N5 Million to anyone who could supply information on his whereabouts until his body was discovered at the back of the LGA Secretariat at Otukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area.

Police public relation officer, ASP Moses Yamo confirmed the story, saying police would do everything possible to bring the perpetrators to book.
