Bayo Onanuga, Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), yesterday incurred the wrath of Nigerians when he expressed doubt about the level of hardship in Nigeria. He said it may be mere propaganda. Using his daughter who was traveling to London as an illustration, he stated that bloggers are over-sensationalising the 'so-called hardship in the country'.
Following this post, Mr Onanuga was roundly cussed and vilified by Nigerians who feel he is out of touch with the current situation on ground.
After being soundly abused, Onanuga came out again to clarify his stand. He stated in another post that Nigerians don't read critically. He insists he was misunderstood and that those abusing him read his words 'upside down'
