A third year student at Egerton University was on Monday, October 17, found dead after hanging himself to death on a tree near the university’s hockey pitch, eDaily reports.

The incident which happened in Kenya has left many people in great shock. According to sources in the university, Daniel Irungu’s body was discovered by the university’s security personnel at 6 am.

The security guards were conducting their morning patrols when they noticed the body of the student, who was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, dangling from a tree.

His colleague told eDaily that Mr Irungu always kept to himself; and that he rarely went to his hostel room.
“His fee statements show that he had cleared his fees and that he had registered for his examinations,” the source said.
The man did not leave a suicide note as police is yet to unravel the cause of the sucide.

Njoro police boss Philip Opiyo, said that the police had not yet established the reason behind the act and added that investigations had commenced.

The body was taken to Nakuru County mortuary.
