Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was an at event in Minna, Niger State, recently when the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) embarrassed him.

The event had barely begun when the power suddenly went off plunging the venue into a blackout.

According to Vanguard, the Niger State capital, yesterday witnessed the power failure as the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, and his wife, Dolapo, attended the 8th Minna Choral Society Annual Festival of Songs.

The ceremony had barely ran for five 30 minutes when power was disrupted for about five minutes and this brought the event to a halt.

Also in attendance were Mohammed Bello and other dignitaries from within and outside the state.

It took the intervention of former CJN, Justice Legbo Kutigi (retd) some minutes to restore electricity through a generator.

The state governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, who accompanied the vice president to the Christian Choral Music ceremony was not, however, in the hall when it was thrown into darkness as he had stepped out of the hall briefly.

Some of the dignitaries who spoke about the incident, expressed disappointment over the embarrassment it caused the Vice President and other important dignitaries who had thronged the hall for the annual programme.
