Nigeria emerged the FIFA U-17 World Cup winner early this morning after beating opponents Mali 2-0 in Vina Del Mar, Chile.

With a record breaking ten goals, top striker Victor Osimhen fired the Nigerian side into the lead before Funsho Bamgboye added a second moments later.

With the 2-0 victory against Mali in the final on Sunday, Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets have won the FIFA U-17 World Cup trophy for a fifth-time record (1985, 1993, 2007, 2013 and 2015 respectively).
General Muhammadu Buhari was Head of State when Nigeria won the 1st U17 World Cup in 1985, 30 years ago. Today, he is President as Nigeria win 5th. Big congrats to all of us!
