A 35 year-old-man identified as Kwabena Kwakye has murdered his friend by butchering him with a machete.

According to Adom News, the man killed his friend, Kwasi Ofori, 40, on Thursday night at Akyem Akokuaso in the Akyemansa District of the Eastern region. 

It was gathered that the suspect inflicted cutlass wounds on the deceased when he failed to hand over his phone to him.

 

Speaking on the incident, Akyemansa District Police Commander, DSP Ofosu Anim said the suspect has mentally issued and had visted the deceased in his house when the incident occurred.

The man was given no chance of survival as Kwabena Kwakye inflicted cutlass wounds on the neck and head of the deceased and escaped from the scene.

 

According to the district Commander, it took the intervention of some good Samaritans who rushed the deceased who was bleeding profusely to the hospital.

He said the police are investigating the murder case and has launched manhunt for the arrest of the suspect who is at large.

The victim, Kwasi Ofori, died Friday dawn at the hospital despite efforts by doctors to keep him alive.
