Three women have reportedly raped a 31-year-old male hitchhiker from Hazyview, who they gave a lift in their BMW.

Police in Phalaborwa, Limpopo area of South Africa, said that the 31-year-old reported he was offered a lift by the women and then raped between Phalaborwa and Hoedspruit on Monday, October 19.

Phalaborwa police spokesperson, Elvis Mongwe, said the three women reportedly picked the victim up in a BMW 320i, adding that one of the women offered the hitchhiker a soft drink.

Mongwe said: “Three minutes after drinking it, he had a painful erection.”

He said the man was then taken to a deserted area where the women took turns raping him at gunpoint without condoms.

The police spokesman further narrated that the women took his cellphone and R300 (about N4500) cash and dropped him off at Eiland near Gravelotte.

The victim reportedly made his way to the main road, where a passing motorist took him to the police station.
Mongwe advised the people to use public transport and not hitchhike, noting that it puts them at risk of being robbed, raped or even killed.

A rape case was opened by the Phalaborwa police, however, no arrests have been made yet.

It seems these women are serial rapists because police records show that the latest assault on the 31-year-old was the fifth of such incident to be reported in the past few years.

News24 reports that in May, a man who was standing on the side of the road in Kwazakhele, Port Elizabeth, was grabbed by three women in a black BMW and raped at gunpoint.

Another case was reported in March, a hitchhiker was given a lift by three women driving a BMW in Germiston. The victim reported that they demanded he gives them money.

He added that when he said he had none, they produced a firearm, blindfolded him and took him to a garage where they raped him.

The Daily News reported a case in August 2012, where a man who was hitchhiking in Gingindlovu was picked up and held at gun point by three women in a Toyota Tazz.
